ImmunoVance™
INDICATIONS:
  • To fortify the mucous membranes, thereby preventing microbes from gaining access to the system.
  • To stimulate immune response during acute viral and bacterial infections.
  • To strengthen a chronically weakened immune system.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
ImmunoVance helps preserve the integrity of the mucous membranes of the airways and gastrointestinal tract as a protective defence barrier, thereby preventing germs from gaining access into the body. Its benefits include the reduction of inflammatory secretions, optimal function of the microscopic tentacles that remove mucous from the airways (cilia) and an improved immune response during both viral and bacterial infections.
Inflamed mucous membrame susceptible to invasion by infectious organisms
Healthy mucous membraneafter treatment with ImmunoVance, resistant to invasion by infectious organisms
MUCOSAL IMMUNITY AND PROTECTIVE SURFACE BARRIERS:
COMPOSITION:
Two capsules contain:

PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:
Complementary medicine

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:

Echinacea
An immune stimulating botanical with more than 300 scientific studies documenting various immune enhancing benefits. These include improved cellular immunity, better immunoglobulin antibody response, increased levels of interleukins IL-1, TNF-alpha, IL-6 & IL-10, stimulation of T-cell replication, improved natural killer cell activity and increased numbers of both macrophages and neutrophils.

Green tea extract
The active constituents are a family of catechins and flavonols that possess powerful antioxidant activity. (Some catechins display antioxidant activity of up to 100 times more potent than vitamins C and E by comparison). Protects the body from free radical induced oxidative damage, thereby reducing the incidence of certain forms of cancer and improving a toxically suppressed immune function.

Beta-sitosterol (Phyto-sterols)
Possesses documented immune modulating effects that protects the body against certain forms of cancer (colon, breast and prostate).

Bioflavonoids
Powerful antioxidants, able to deactivate various toxic substances (including heavy metals). Help control the release of reactive oxygen molecules from macrophages, thereby reducing cell membrane damage.

Co-enzyme Q10
An antioxidant that plays an important role in initiating cell-produced energy. Studies have shown that co-enzyme Q10 greatly enhances the general function of the immune system. Immune parameters that were improved include greater resistance to viruses, improved macrophage activity, increased levels of IgG antibodies and T4 cells.

Vitamin A (beta-carotene)
Enhances the integrity of the mucous membranes, thereby preventing bacteria and viruses from gaining entry via the nose, mouth, stomach and lungs. Increases both humeral and cellular immune activity.

Vitamin B1
Critical for thymus gland integrity, B-cell production, antibody response and resistance to infection.

Vitamin B2
Required for antibody response, T- and B-cell production, as well as spleen cell response. Plays a key role in the maintenance of healthy mucous membranes.

Vitamin B3
Acts as part of two co-enzymes, NAD and NADP, which are involved in over fifty different metabolic reactions. These include the maintenance of healthy mucous membranes and the production of various hormones that play a role during inflammation and infection.

Vitamin B5
Important for adrenal gland support. Stimulates the production of the hormone cortisone, which plays a dominant role in the natural inflammatory mechanism.

Vitamin B6
Required for antibody formation, T- and B-cell production as well as spleen cell response. Assists with cell-mediated immunity by aiding macrophages to consume pathogens via the process of phagocytosis.

Vitamin B12
Essential for fighting bacteria by regulating T-cell function.

Folic acid
Protects against immune tissue damage. Needed for both cellular and humeral antibody immune response.

Vitamin C
Reduces the incidence, duration and symptoms of viral respiratory infections. It also acts as a natural antihistamine and reduces mucous membrane inflammation.

Vitamin E
Essential for T- and B-cell production. As powerful antioxidant, prevents cell and tissue damage during the inflammatory response. Enhances immunity against viruses by inactivating viral kinases and inhibiting a viral component called the LTR (long tail repeat).

Selenium
A component of the important antioxidant enzyme, glutathione peroxidase. It increases natural killer cell activity and antibody production, and protects macrophages against free radical damage.

Zinc
Known to shorten the symptoms of viral respiratory infections and sore throats. Is an essential nutrient for optimal immune functioning and possesses strong antiviral activity when consumed at elevated levels for short periods. Increases the number of natural killer cells, improves cell mediated immunity and supports macrophages by improving their ability to ingest foreign particles (phagocytosis).

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For immune strengthening and the prevention of infections:
Adults: 2 capsules per day with a meal.
Children: 1 capsule per day with a meal. (Capsules may be opened and contents mixed with food)

For acute infections:
Adults: 2 capsules 3 times per day with a meal.
Children: 1 capsule 3 times per day with a meal. (Capsules may be opened and content mixed with food)

SIDE -EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:

Echinacea
In spite of echinacea having been in general use for many years, very few side-effects have been reported. May cause mild gastro-intestinal irritation. Although trials have demonstrated its benefits for HIV infections, studies have demonstrated that it may potentially interfere with the actions of certain anti-retroviral drugs.

Green tea extract
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Phyto sterols
Long-term safety studies have not been performed on beta-sitosterol as a dietary supplement - but the compound is so widespread in the natural diet that it is generally regarded as safe. No significant side-effects or drug interactions have been reported in any of the studies investigating beta-sitosterol at massively increased dosages.

Bioflavonoids
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin A (beta-carotene)
Because vitamin A gets stored in the body (unlike some other vitamins) doses exceeding 50 000 IU's taken over extended periods may cause toxicity.

Vitamin B1
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin B2
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin B3
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin B5
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin B6
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin B12
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Folic acid
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Vitamin C
May produce mild diarrhoea and flatulence.

Vitamin E
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.
(Vitamin E is not stored as readily as other fat-soluble vitamins and excess is eliminated via the urine and faeces. Due to these reasons, toxicity is unlikely, even with high doses.)

Selenium
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage.

Zinc
There are no documented side-effects or drug interactions at this dosage. (Considered non-toxic at doses up to 150 mg.)

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.
